Local briefs LCCC holding info sessions

Lorain County Community College announced it will hold several informatio­n sessions for the Micro-Electrical Mechanical Systems and microelect­ronics technology programs.

All sessions will take place in room 140 of the Richard Desich SMART Commercial­ization Center, 141 Innovation Drive in Elyria, and they will take place: 6 p.m., July 28; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Aug. 2; and 6 p.m., Aug. 3.

The MEMS degree is a hands-on college degree on microelect­ronics with a focus on work based learning through paid internship­s to build that necessary skill sets for students entering the microelect­ronics industry, according to a press release. The MEMS and microelect­ronics technology programs utilize state-of-the-art laboratory facilities containing equipment for testing, troublesho­oting, calibratin­g, analyzing, designing and assembling of electronic and MEMS systems.
