• Jesus Aguilar and Eric Stamets each had three RBI as Triple-A Columbus won in Norfolk on July 27, 9-2. Aguilar slammed a run-scoring double and a two-RBI double and Stamets added a three-run triple to fuel the rout. Giovanny Urshela added a run-scoring double for the Clippers. Columbus starter Shawn Morimando (2-1, 2.88 ERA) was the beneficiar­y of all of that hitting. He pitched 6 2⁄3 innings, giving up no runs on five hits.

• Richmond slipped by host Double-A Akron 6-5, to complete a three-game sweep. Akron starter Nick Pasquale (1-4, 4.31 ERA) pitched five shutout innings before running into trouble in the sixth. The Rubber-Ducks’ Nellie Rodriguez hit a solo homer, his 19th. The Rubber-Ducks have lost six straight.

• Single-A Lynchburg lost at home to Wilmington, 6-5. Trailing 6-0, the Hillcats staged a furious rally in the eighth inning, scoring five runs. Mark Mathias hit a run-scoring single and Anthony Santander added an RBI double to fuel the rally, which was aided by two wild pitches and a walk that scored runs. Sean Brady (10-4) took the loss for the Hillcats. He pitched six innings, giving up five runs on five hits, but only one run was earned.

• Low-A Lake County came from behind at home to beat South Bend, 5-4, for its third straight victory. Captains catcher Martin Cervenka hit a two-run homer, his fourth. Lake County scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Captains reliever Cortland Cox (5-1, 5.05 ERA) got the win.

• The DSL Indians dropped a 5-2 decision to the host DSL Rangers. Left fielder Luis De La Rosa (.220) plated the first run in the second inning when the tripled and scored on a groundout.
