Apprehension detail nets 15 arrests
A joint effort between the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Parole Authority and the Lorain County Probation Office resulted in the arrest of 15 men and women who had outstanding family violence warrants, according to authorities.
On Oct. 19, the agencies took part in the 14th annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
By 3 p.m., the 15 individuals with existing familyviolence-related we in custody, the release said.
Officers arrested 12 people and three turned themselves in. All were booked into the Lorain County Jail.
The collaborative effort is commonly known as SWEEP and is to help raise awareness about family and domestic violence.
The release said offenders will be held accountable for their actions.
