Francona names Kluber starter for Game 4 INDIANS AT CUBS

Corey Kluber, 3-1 in the postseason, will start Game 4 of the World Series for the Indians in Chicago on three days rest, Indians manager Terry Francona announced on Oct. 26 before Game 2 vs. the Cubs.

Kluber pitched six innings to get the win in Game 1 on Oct. 25 when the Indians shut out the Cubs, 6-0. His next start would be Oct. 29 at Wrigley Field.

“I just didn’t want to put Klubes in a tough spot by saying that before he pitched,” Francona said. “Then if something came up and he wasn’t ready to make that start, I didn’t think it was fair to him. But he’s all set to pitch.

“That was probably Plan A. Part of taking him out then was with that in mind.”

on first and nobody out in the top of the seventh. Andrew Miller and Cody Allen finished the game.

Francona said he will use a three-man rotation the remainder of the World Series. Trevor Bauer was scheduled to start Game 2 on Oct. 26 and would start Game 5 on Oct. 30 in Chicago. Josh Tomlin would start Game 3 at Wrigley Field on Oct. 28 and Game 6 on Nov. 1 at Progressiv­e Field if the series goes that far. Kluber would start Game 7 at home on Nov. 2.
