Horizon Science Academy students win big at MathCON

The high school students team from Horizon Science Academy of Lorain finished in the top three at the Annual MathCON Concept Schools Regional Contest, according to a release.

This was the 10th anniversar­y of the competitio­n, which was held at Indiana Math and Science Academy. More than 230 students and 100 teachers and administra­tors attended, the release said.

MathCON is a math competitio­n which consists of two rounds of students grades 5-12 answering math questions in an online format. Teams from charter, private and public schools are welcome to compete, according to the release.

The release said Horizon Science Academy of Lorain would like to thank their teachers and students for taking part in the competitio­n, and in their eyes each team that made it to the finals is a “math champion.”
