Two men arrested in connection to armed robbery
An armed robbery investigation in Elyria so far has resulted in two arrests, according to Elyria police Capt. Christopher Costantino.
Estaban J. Gutierrez, 23, of Middle Avenue, and Alexander E. Kessler, 18, of Hampton Drive, each were charged felony aggravated robbery, according to Elyria Municipal Court records.

disrupting public service for preventing one of the victims from calling 911, Costantino said.
At 7:32 p.m., March 20, officers met with the three victims — a 19-year-old Avon Lake man, a 19-year-old Lorain woman and a 19-yearold Lorain man — and learned they were robbed at gunpoint by three subjects, he said.
The Avon Lake man was attempting to sell a pair of shoes to Kessler.
When the Avon Lake man exited his vehicle, one of the suspect’s with Kessler brandished a firearm and robbed the victim of his shoes and some marijuana, Costantino said. A shot was never fired.
The female victim attempted to call for help, but her phone was taken by Gutierrez, Costantino said.
Elyria Municipal Court records show Kessler was arraigned March 27. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 3.
Records also show Gutierrez was arraigned March 28. He has a preliminary hearing set for April 3.
The third suspect, who was described as a tall, heavy set black male, is still at large and actively being sought by police, Costantino said.
