A Lorain woman who was wanted in connection to felonious assualt violence incident in March was arrested.

A 38-year-old Lorain woman accused of assaulting a Norwalk woman with a knife last month was apprehended on April 4 by Lorain officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Service, according to a Lorain police report.

Brandy Lee Adams, who lives at 3040 Vine Ave., was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. and charged with felonious assault, domestic violence and unlawful restraint.

The report indicated the assault took place March 18 at Adams’ home.

Around 8:15 p.m., March 20, the victim filed a report with the Lorain Police Department.

According to the report, Norwalk police advised the 26-year-old woman to speak with Lorain law enforcement officers because of where the altercation took place.

The Norwalk woman told Lorain officers she arrived at Adams’ home around 6:30 p.m., March 18, after being invited over by Adams.

While there, the victim became increasingly tired and decided to sleep in an upstairs bedroom, according to the report.

Although the victim isn’t sure of the exact time, she told officers she woke to find Adams on top of her.

According to the report, Adams was yelling about the victim seeing other women and other content located on the victim’s phone. Adams continued by punching the victim in the face repeatedly while tearing and ripping at the victim’s clothing during the struggle, the report said.

The victim said Adams also had some type of knife in her hand during the assault, the report said.

Following numerous attempts to break free, the victim was able to run downstairs and attempted to leave the home.

Adams continued to pursue the victim, grabbed her by hair and shoved her to the ground, resulting in the victim’s bottom teeth puncturing through her bottom lip, according to the report.

When the victim was finally able to call a friend to come pick her up, Adams responded by pulling the victim’s hair and preventing her from leaving, the report said.

The victim eventually was able to leave the home and received treatment March 19 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, the report said.

Hospital personnel contacted police, who then informed the victim to contact Lorain authorities.

Other injuries the victim suffered included a swollen left eye, large and dark bruised areas on her left shoulder and right hip and shallow lacerations to her torso, left breast and left hip, according to the report.

The victim could not provide a reason for why she didn’t contact police the night of the assault other than she wanted to get away from Adams.

Lorain Municipal Court officials said Adams entered a not guilty plea April 5 during her court appearance. Adams’ bond was set at $25,000 and a temporary protection order was granted.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10.
