• The Elyria Rotary Club is offering, for the fifth year, its Elyria Rotary Club Scholarship. The scholarship totals $20,000, payable up to 5,000 per year tuition at a baccalaureate institution.

The privately funded scholarship will reward a local student who is actively involved in community service and has shown success in his or her academic endeavors.

It is open to graduating seniors from five high schools in the Elyria area, including Elyria High School, Elyria Catholic High School, Midview High School, Open Door Christian Schools and First Baptist Christian School of Elyria. Applicants will need to have applied for and intend to attend a baccalaureate institution on a full-time basis for a four-year degree beginning in the fall of 2017.

Selection of the recipient of the Elyria Rotary Club Scholarship will be made by the representatives of the Club’s Grants, Scholarship and Endowment Committee in midMay.

The scholarship money will be paid directly to the recipients’s education institution.

Application and all required documents must be received by April 21.
