Carlisle Reservation Visitor Center presents dinosaur exhibit
The Carlisle Reservation Visitor Center is going prehistoric to celebrate the Lorain County Metro Parks’ 60th anniversary as it present DINOSAURS!
The reservation, 12882 Diagonal Road in LaGrange, was turned into a Jurassic adventure zone with an outdoor dinosaur trail and an indoor dinosaur discovery display.
Tickets are $3 at the door and children younger than 3 years of age are admitted free. The exhibition runs from noon to 6 p.m., daily, until May 7.
The fun begins before patrons even get into the building with a dinosaur suit which occasionally will walk the parking lot.
Patrons will have the chance to travel back through the epochs and stalk the terrible lizards through a prehistoric nature scene on the outdoor dinosaur trail, where moving foam rubber behemoths roar and screech at hikers as they walk by.
Signs posted in front of the displays are packed with information on what paleontologists believe about the different dinosaurs.
Indoors, patrons are treated to wild displays of replica dinosaur fossils, sound effects and hands on activities to get children excited about the planets ancient history.
From 1- 4 p.m. Fridays, patrons can enjoy dinosaur crafts and a movie. At 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, there will be story time. And from 2-4 p.m., Construct-a-Saurus will give children the chance to build a dinosaur skeleton.
There will be a special presentation from 2:303:30 p.m., April 29, called Teeth, Jaws and Claws.

— Vanessa Klesta, public information officer for the Visitor Center
Each weekend, except for Easter weekend, food
trucks will be on site.
According to Vanessa Klesta, public information officer for the Visitor Center, for the Lorain County Metro Parks’ 60th anniversary, they wanted to look
back on some of the more notable exhibits from the past.
“We used to have those displays over at the French Creek Nature Center,” Klesta said. “Dinosaurs
was one of the big displays, and we’re playing homage to our 60th anniversary.
