Trump must set better example for children

-

If we adults truly understand that the future lies in the hands of our children and grandchildren, then we must demand that the current occupier of the Oval Office do a better job of setting an example for them. In my opinion: How can Boy Scout leaders ask their troops to be “trustworthy” when the current occupier of the Oval Office fabricates stories to benefit himself? How can Girl Scout leaders ask their troops to be “honest” and “fair” when the current occupier of Oval Office is neither?

How can leaders of Christian Service brigades ask their charges to look up to their elders, “especially their leaders” when the leadership abilities of the current occupier of the Oval Office offers so little to look up to? How can leaders of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and leaders of 4-H Clubs ask their members to strive to develop “good character” when the current occupier of the Oval Office demonstrates so little of it?

How can leaders of Frontier Girls Clubs ask their troops to “be accountable for their own actions” when the current occupier of the Oval Office so blithely casts blame for his own failures?

For the sake of our children and grandchildren, we parents, grandparents, teachers, civic and political leaders, and peace officers — simply put, all of us, regardless of our political affiliations — must demand that Mr. Trump begin acting responsibly! James J. Vargo North Ridgeville
