Police and court briefs Lorain man faces two charges after incident

-

A Lorain man accused of pointing a gun at two females and punching one of the women in the face was arrested April 24, according to a Lorain police report.

Noel Cindo Cruz, 26, of Kingsway Drive, was charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

The report said officers met with the victims, a 27-year-old Lorain woman and a 24-year-old Lorain woman, around 11:05 p.m. in the area of East 30th Street and Vine Avenue.

Officers learned the 27-year-old woman had the 24-year-old drive her to a home in the 1600 block of East 30th Street to fight a 21-year-old woman, but the women instead were greeted by Cruz, who allegedly pulled a pistol from his waistband while approaching their vehicle, according to the report.

Cruz put the weapon back in his waistband upon realizing whom the 24-year-old was, the report said.

The suspect then directed his attention toward the 27-year-old and punched her in the mouth, causing a split upper lip, the report said.

Cruz went back inside the home as the women drove a few blocks away and called police, according to the report.

Cruz was spotted passing by in a van with a relative and subsequently was arrested when approached by police, the report said.

The vehicle was searched, but a gun was not located, according to the report.

Lorain County Jail records show Cruz was lodged April 24, but Lorain Municipal Court records have yet to show when he will appear in court.
