Avon Lake Public Library events

The following events are planned at Avon Lake Public Library, 32649 Electric Blvd.

• Children’s Garden 2017 Planning Session: Last spring the Children’s Garden was built and had a great planting and harvest season. Now it’s time to start again. What do you want to grow this summer? Kids of all ages are invited to join us on Saturday, April 29 from 10 to 11 a.m. to help plan the garden design. Get a peek at the library’s Summer Reading 2017 plans. Registration is required, and has already begun, at the Children’s desk or online at alpl.org. Children under age 6 must have a caregiver present.

• Bounce, Wiggle, Giggle, CUDDLE!: Bounce, Wiggle, Giggle, CUDDLE is for non-walking infants of any age with a caregiver. Join us Thursday, April 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., as we sing songs, learn fun lap sits, and explore sensory activities. Registration required in the Children’s department or online at alpl.org.

• Tea Time Book Club: It’s tea time at the Library. You are invited to join us for an afternoon of tea, cookies, and a friendly book discussion about a great book on Tuesday, May 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. The selection for the month is My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. Registration is required at the Information desk where copies of the book are available.

• Pokémon Open Play: Bring your Pokémon cards to trade or play on Pokémon Open Play day, Wednesday, May 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. Play takes place in the Children’s department. No registration necessary, just come and have FUN!

• 3D Handprint Art Project: Take handprint art to a new level by designing a unique Mother’s or Father’s Day gift. We will make 3D handprint projects on Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m. If you enjoy detailed, Zentangle-type art, this is for you. For grades 4 to 6. Registration is required, beginning May 1 at the Children’s desk or online at alpl.org.
