Columbia basketball star Becca Tacchite signs her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Baldwin Wallace University.

Columbia’s Becca Tacchite made it official on April 26 in front of her coaches, family and friends, signing a National Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career at Baldwin Wallace.

“I’m sad that high school is over because I made so many close friends and they helped me grow into the basketball player that I am today,” Tacchite said.

“But I’m ready for the next step.”

Tacchite made the Division-III 2016-17 All-Lorain County first-team and said being near home was a major factor in her decision to

choose BW.

“It’s a lot like Columbia and it’s smaller,” she said. “I know a few girls playing on the team now and I grew up playing against them, so it’ll be good to play with

them.”

Her four years at Columbia are a ride she will never forget.

“It was crazy,” she added. “It was an emotional rollercoaster between winning

and losing. We accomplished so much in the last four years and it’s amazing.”

Tacchite will major in early childhood education.
