The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Lorain County has began its search for the organization’s next president and chief executive officer, according to a media release from the organization.

The search comes after Brian Frederick, current president and CEO, announced last month he was retiring at the end of 2017.

Frederick has dedicated nearly 20 years to the organization, the release said.

Waverly Partners, LLC, a national executive search firm, will serve as the organization’s executive search firm.

Community Foundation Board Chair Farnaz Ansari Berna is chair of the seven-member search committee that will work with Waverly Partners to identify qualified local, regional and national candidates.

“We have developed a profile with the experience and leadership characteristics of our preferred candidate,” Berna said in a statement. “Our committee is open to executives with backgrounds in community foundations, other kinds of nonprofits, or related leadership experience with a commitment to the community.”

The position is posted on the Community Foundation’s website at www. peoplewhocare.org.

All inquiries should be directed to the search consultants Heidi Milosovic or Eric Peterson at CFLC@ Waverly-Partners.com.

The Community Foundation of Lorain County, founded in 1980, is made up of 619 Endowed Funds valued at $123 million.

On average, $5.8 million is awarded annually in grant support to nonprofit organizations in Lorain County.
