Teens arrested on vandalism charges
Two North Olmsted teens were arrested on vandalism charges following an April 22 incident at area car dealerships on Lorain Road in North Olmsted.
Wisam H. Ayyad, 19, of North Olmsted and another 17-year-old North Olmsted teen were arrested on vandalism charges May 8 following an investigation into an April 22 incident in which 31 cars were vandalized, resulting in $100,000 in damages, according to a release from the North Olmsted Police Department.
The arrests were made following the execution of a search warrant by North Olmsted Police with assistance from the Westshore Enforcement Bureau and the Rocky River Police Department, the release said.
At 7:39 a.m. on April 22 North Olmsted police responded to a vandalism complaint at the Cleveland Motorsports car dealership at 28300 Lorain Road in North Olmsted where an employee reported a Rolls Royce in the front lot of the dealership had been keyed in multiple locations, according to a North Olmsted police report.
Upon further investigation, police discovered seven dealership owned vehicles and seven customer cars had been keyed or dented for a total of 15 vehicles damaged, according to the report.
While investigating the vandalism complaint at Cleveland Motorsports officers notified the neighboring dealership, Porsche of North Olmsted at 28400 Lorain Road, where a total of 14 vehicles with scratches were discovered along the north and east side of the dealership, the report said.
Surveillance footage taken from Porsche of North Olmsted showed someone getting into a vehicle at the far north end of the vehicle and leaving the area, the report said.
Police said all of the damage occurred at the dealerships between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on April 21 and 7:20 a.m. on April 22, the report said.
