Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd., Lorain, will hold a gigantic sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 9 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 10. There will be hundreds of items including name brand clothing, shoes, toys, games, household items and miscellaneous treasures. In addition to the exceptional bargains, baked goods and lunch will be offered for you to enjoy. Vendors needed: The Sullivan First Congregational Church is seeking vendors for the flea market 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 26. The cost for an indoor table or an outdoor space is $20. Chicken Paprikas carryout dinner: A Chicken Paprikas carryout dinner and bake sale will be 1 to 3 p.m. June 10 at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 1691 E. 31st S. Lorain. Carryout dinners consist of a quarter chicken, dumplings and gravy, two stuffed cabbage rolls for $13 per dinner. Extra items for sale – dumplings and gravy (1 pound ) at $5 each and Haluska/Cabbage and noodles (1 pound) at $5 each. An assortment of pastries will also be available for sale. When placing orders, specify white or dark meat. Orders may be placed with the church office 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, by calling 440–277-8177. Deadline to place orders is June 2. Outdoor summer worship: Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Road, in North Ridgeville, will be offering outdoor summer worship at 5 p.m. in the pavilion Saturday evenings beginning June 3. Preschool registration: Christ Lutheran Preschool is registering children for the 2017-18 school year. Christ Lutheran Preschool is a Christian-based Five Star Step Up to Quality Award winner (the highest rating). It offers many different class options for 2 1⁄2 to 5 year olds. New for fall is a class for 2-½ year olds with options on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday morning. A two-day, a three-day or a 2 day p.m. class is available for 3-year- olds. St. Peter festival: The popular St. Peter Parish annual festival will be 5 to 9 p.m., Aug. 5 and 1 to 7 p.m., Aug. 6, at 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The public is invited to attend for fellowship, homemade food, beverages, live music and dancing, children’s games, raffles, instant bingo, and other games of chance. Admission is free and there is plenty of free, safe, convenient parking available. Vacation Bible School: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake, will be hosting a free Vacation Bible School (VBS) from June 19 through 23. This program will be from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to all children ages 3 through fifth grade. This year’s theme, Maker Fun Factory, will include crafts, games, and lots of activities to teach children that they were created by God and built for a purpose. Marathon of Rosaries: Every first Saturday of the month there is a “Marathon of Rosaries to Protect the Unborn” from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Eucharistic Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1339 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. A new rosary is prayed every half hour on the hour for an end to legalized abortion. We invite all of those pro-life citizens to join with us in prayer. Free community meal: On the last Sunday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Journey of Faith Church in North Ridgeville cooks and serves a fresh hot meal for those in need in the community.
