Avon Lake Scout earns Eagle Rank
RJ Prusha of Avon Lake Boy Scout Troop 334 achieved his Eagle Scout Rank.
The Eagle Court of Honor in recognition of RJ was held on May 28 at the Avon Lake American Legion Post #211.
Avon Lake City Councilman Martin O’Donnell, Tim Villari, legislative aide to state Sen. Gayle Manning, along with family members, friends, football coaches and the Scouts and Leaders of Troop 334 joined in celebrating the accomplishment.
RJ ‘s Eagle Service Project took place over the spring through the end of summer 2016.
With the help from many Scouts in Troop 334, and fundraisers he organized, he was able to create an outdoor classroom for Pembroke Kids Child Development Center located in Avon Lake’s Pin Oak Industrial Parkway.
The outdoor classroom includes six wooden benches, a bird feeder post for the children to hang their birdhouse feeders, two entrance posts for hanging the children’s crafts, and a stepping stone entrance way.
The Eagle Service Project took a total of over 350 man hours.
RJ attends Avon Lake High School, where he just completed his sophomore year. RJ is an Honor Roll student, member of the Avon Lake Shoremen football team, member of the Avon Lake Rugby Club and Avon Lake track and field. RJ is also a member of the Jugendgruppe Dance group of the Donauschwaben Club in Olmsted Falls.
He is the son of Leanne G. Haag, and grandson of David R. and Ann L. Haag, deceased.
