Police: Two arrested in Lorain riot incident

-

Police have arrested two suspects and are searching for three others involved in a riot incident in the 3900 block of Gary Avenue, according to a Lorain police report.

Around 10:47 p.m., June 13, police responded to a call about a fight in progress.

When officers arrived, they detained a 25-yearold man and a 23-year-old woman. The second male, a 28-year-old, ignored officer’s command to stop and walked into a residence on Gary, the report said.

Police then spoke with Taylor Russell, 26, and Ashley Zajac, 32, who told officers they used to live with the trio.

Russell and Zajac ordered the trio to vacate their home because of their standard of living, according to the report.

Zajac told officers the two men and woman showed up to her house to fight, the report said.

While they were knocking on the door, Zajac opened the door and threw a glass bottle outside at the female, exited the house and began fighting her, according to the report.

While the two women fought, the three males began to fight in the driveway of the home on Gary Avenue, the report said.

During the fight, the woman with the men claimed Zajac shot a gun at her, but the bullet went over her head, the report said.

About six minutes after officers cleared the scene, Zajac called and said the trio were harassing her, the report said.

During that time, third party witnesses came forward to tell what happened and confirmed Zajac fired a gun, according to the report.

Based on the witnesses statement, Russell and Zajac were arrested on riot charges, the report said.

Police were unable to make contact with the trio.
