Police: Pursuit leads to arrest of three people

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has arrested three individual­s following an early morning police pursuit.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol have arrested three individual­s following an early morning police pursuit on State Route 2 in Erie County, according to a media release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

At 9:56 a.m., June 16, an Ohio State Trooper attempted to stop 20-yearold Devon A. Davenport, of Cleveland, for a speeding violation on State Route 2 near State Route 61, the release said.

Davenport initially stopped in the roadway and when the trooper approached the vehicle, Davenport took off, according to the release.

He exited State Route 61 and traveled north and then west on U.S. 6 into the city of Huron where the trooper lost sight of him, the release said.

Moments later an Erie County Deputy saw Davenport west on State Route 2 near State Route 13.

The deputy activated his pursuit lights and he started to flee again, the release said.

Two troopers took over the pursuit near Rye Beach Road as Davenport fled west on State Route 2, according to the release.

He exited at U.S. 250 and traveled south to Bogart Road then east on Bogart Road until Main Street in Huron, the release said.

The suspect then went north on Main Street where the passenger, 23-year-old Brittany Trionfante, of Cleveland, opened the passenger side door and jumped out of the vehicle at about 20 mph, the release said.

Officers stopped with her and placed her in custody before she was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center to be treated, according to the release.

Davenport continued to U.S. 6 and traveled east on U.S. 6 near Tiffin Avenue, where the vehicle caught a flat tire, the release said.

He then fled on foot north of U.S. 6.

By then, agencies utilized multiple resources to apprehend the suspect.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office deployed their drone, the Ohio State Patrol utilized their airplane, Perkins Police Department and Sandusky Police Department deployed their K- 9’s, according to the release.

The Huron Police Department assisted with multiple officers along with Perkins Police department and Border Patrol, the release said.

Several hours later, reports came in that a brown pick-up truck picked up the suspect in Huron and was driving eastbound on U.S. 6.

State Troopers were positioned on multiple routes leading back to Cleveland and the brown pickup truck was observed on Interstate 90 near State route 254 in Sheffield, according to the release.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, passenger, and suspect were taken into custody.

Davenport was charged with failure to comply with a lawful order, inducing panic, and multiple traffic violations, the release stated.

He was incarcerat­ed at the Erie County Jail. He also had multiple felony warrants, and was a parole violator at large with a violent criminal history.

Anthony Andrews, 24, Cleveland, was charged with obstructin­g official business and complicity to the offense of failure to comply with a lawful order. He was incarcerat­ed at the Erie County Jail.

Haley Karnosh, 18, Cleveland, was charged with obstructin­g official business and complicity to the offense of failure to comply with a lawful order. She was also incarcerat­ed at the Erie County Jail.
