LCCC offers program for vets
Lorain County Community College announced it is helping veterans bridge the gap to civilian life with a new accelerated program designed to assist veteran medics and corpsmen and others with military experience find new careers as paramedics or other health care positions.
This program is designed to accelerate the paramedic program by allowing students to receive credit for their military medic and corpsman experience through Prior Learning Assessment. This customized program will allow participants to move through and learn alongside fellow veterans with similar goals and experiences. Veterans may apply their VA educational benefits to the program.
Those interested in the program can learn more at upcoming information sessions: 9-10:30 a.m., July 12; 6-7:30 p.m., July 18; or 2-3:30 p.m., July 21.
All information sessions will be held in the lobby of the LCCC University Partnership Ridge Campus, 32121 Lorain Road in North Ridgeville.
Information sessions will include representatives from LCCC Veterans Services, program instructors, academic advisors and information about related programs, such as Fire Science and the Paramedic to Registered Nurse program.
