Catherine R. Crowell (nee Ray)

Catherine R. Crowell (nee Ray), 83, of Vermilion, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Stein Hospice after a short illness.

Cathy was born December 9, 1933 in Danville, Virginia and had spent most of her life in Vermilion and a short time also in the Denver, CO area.

She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion, Open Door Church, and the Grace Church, Denver, CO. She enjoyed bible study, adult coloring books, writing poetry, ing nursing homes, and caring for others.

She is survived by her son, Lee Crowell of Greeley, CO; daughters, Vickie (Dean) Fischer of Vermilion and Sandy Story of Eagle, CO; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great dren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Crowell in 2002; parents, Allen and Elizabeth (nee Simpson) Ray; brother, Jim Ray; and sister, Betty Boley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 12 Noon until the time of a memorial service at 1:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Rev. Cliff Morris will officiate.
