• Triple-A Columbus was idle. The Clippers (56-51) next host Indianapol­is. Left-hander Ryan Merritt (7-5, 3.33 ERA) starts for Columbus against Indians left-hander Steven Brault (8-4, 2.06).

• Double-A Akron was idle. The RubberDuck­s (51-54) next host Hartford. Akron left-hander Luis Lugo (5-6, 4.91) starts for the RubberDuck­s against YardGoats right-hander Ryan Castellani (8-9, 5.02).

• Tanner Tully’s strong start unraveled in a fourrun fifth as Potomac beat High-A Lynchburg, 5-2.

Tully (0-1) allowed four runs and five hits.

Jodd Carter’s RBI groundout staked the Hillcats to a brief 1-0 lead in the away sixth.

• West Michigan pounded Low-A Lake County’s pitching in a 15-2 victory.

Conner Capel hit his 16th home run for the Captains (44-61) and Mitch Longo scored on Li-Jen Chu’s groundout to account for Lake County’s offense.

• Will Benson hit a tworun home run and Nolan Jones added a two-run double to lead short-season Mahoning Valley past Batavia, 6-2. The victory moves the Scrappers (2515) into a tie for first place atop the New York-Penn League standings with Staten Island.

Benson’s home run followed Simeon Lucas’ RBI groundout for a 3-0 lead in the fourth.

Right-hander Gregori Vazquez threw six quality innings to earn the victory.
