• Clippers: Triple-A Columbus (61-58) left 11 runners on base in a forgettabl­e 8-1 rout by host Pawtucket. Richie Shaffer’s solo home run in the fourth, his 26th homer of the year, was the offense for the Clippers.

• RubberDuck­s: Four pitchers combined on a six-hitter, with Robbie Aviles (5-2) getting the win, in a 2-1 Game 2 victory over Binghamton to split a doublehead­er. Todd Hankins went 3-for-3 with a steal and a run for the RubberDuck­s. In Game 1, Akron mustered just four hits in a 6-1 loss. Yu-Cheng Chang homered for the RubberDuck­s.

• Hillcats: Single-A Lynchburg (70-47) pounded out 17 hits in a 14-1 decimation at Winston-Salem. Andrew Calica went 3-for-3 with three runs, three walks, a solo home run in the third and three RBI, and Ben Krauth notched his first save with three shutout innings of relief, striking out four.

• Captains: Conner Capel belted a three-run home run in the sixth, and SingleA Lake County (48-68) staved off a comeback bid for a 6-5 win at Lansing. Capel also doubled in a 3-for-4 night for the Captains.

• Scrappers: Gregori Vasquez tossed six solid innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out four, and James Karinchak struck out seven in three innings of relief, but shortseaso­n Single-A Mahoning Valley (29-21) dropped a hard-luck 2-1 decision to visiting Staten Island.
