New golf club open for ‘previews’
Valley of the Eagles extends special offer to golfers
Grab your golf clubs and head to Valley of the Eagles, 1100 Gulf Road in Elyria, as the new golf club is open for “previews.”
Valley of the Eagles, which opened Aug. 5, sits on the old Spring Valley Country Club property that closed in 2013.
The golf club is offering a limited “preview” golf special so golfers can enjoy the course as construction continues on the clubhouse, said Head Golf Professional Barry Friedman.
“Preview tee times are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with 20-minute increments,” Friedman said. “Most golf courses don’t have a cut off time.”
Preview tee times are $40 per player and include green fees, cart fees and complimentary pop, bottled water and snacks.
During the preview tee times,
the clubhouse will not be open.
The layout of Valley of the Eagles is different from nearby golf courses, Friedman said.
“The golf course layout is unique because it is not flat, like most courses,” he said. “And, golfers can get to see the Black River. It’s such a beautiful site that you don’t get to elsewhere.”
It is also the only Jack Nicklaus Design daily-fee course in Northern Ohio.
The clubhouse and Black River Tavern are expected to open in the fall, Friedman said.
The Black River Tavern will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It features handcrafted walnut tables and wood accents from timber harvested from the course and natural stonework.
The tavern evokes a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere that is comfortable, warm and inviting, according to its course’s website.
Valley of the Eagles Golf Club is offering the 2018 annual golf membership passes starting at $1,900 for individual play, $2,800 for couples and $3,100 for family.
The annual pass allows for unlimited play.
