ClearVista Health and Wellness to expand services

- Staff report

ClearVista Health and Wellness will open a new 22bed behavioral health unit in September.

The facility, located at 3360 Kolbe Road, is expected to be completed in September and will provide services to adults who are struggling with mental health issues or chemical dependency. The expansion is expected to create at least 30 new jobs in Lorain, according to a news release.

A grand opening takes place from 4-7 p.m., Sept. 13, where the public is welcomed to tour the renovated space, the release said.

Specializing in services to the senior population, northeast Ohio’s opiate epidemic has amplified the need in Lorain County to provide support for younger adults, according to the release.

The treatment facility will service adults 18 and older.

“The spring 2015 opening of ClearVista proved to be an important addition to the behavioral health needs of those specifically 55 and older,” said Pam Koutsaftis, director of business development. “By mid-2016, it was clear an additional adult unit would be on the horizon as referral sources swelled and requests to accept younger patients increased each month.”

“The August 2017 planned opening of the 22-bed adult unit has been anticipated in the greater community as ClearVista Health and Wellness becomes a 52-bed specialized behavioral health hospital.”

Clearvista’s new location comes following an extensive renovation of the existing building which has allowed the facility to add new group and individual therapy rooms, a large dining room and offices, the release said.

The new treatment center also will offer ClearVista’s outpatient program Stepping Stone which provides follow-up support and allows patients to continue applying the life skills and clinical therapies learned during their stay, the release said.
