Despite a strong second-half effort, Lorain dropped a 3-0 match to Fuchs Mizrachi on Aug. 31 at the Lost Nation Sportplex.

It boiled down to one simple thing: The Titans had no answer for forward Edon Bibbins, who scored all three goals.

Lorain dropped to 0-3-0 overall.

“There was a lot of hard work and effort from the guys,” Lorain coach Rick Dimacchia said. “They’ve been working hard the last couple of weeks. We haven’t been on the right side of the score, but as a team, they’re all learning their positions and getting organized.”

Bibbins scored his first goal from front-center in the 17th minute of the first half, and scored

again six minutes later for a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, the Titans came out with a different type of aggression — and did it under control. They had several attempts in front of the net to apply pressure back at Fuchs Mizrachi, including a shot from senior midfielder Blake Bartlome that missed wide right in the 15th minute. But Lorain never could find the back of the net.

Titans junior goalkeeper Jason Chavez did his best to keep them in it, including making a nifty stop in the 20th minute. But once again, Bibbins was too much, scoring in the final two minutes to seal the game.

Fuchs Mizrachi had 10 shots on goal to Lorain’s eight.

“We got them to calm down after halftime,” Dimacchia said. “They got a bit disorganized at the end of the first half.”
