Trump triumphs over ‘Never Trumpers’
I don’t know Jonah Goldberg, although I have met him and attended meetings with him. His column about President Donald Trump on Sept. 14, titled “It’s about ‘wins,’ not ideology,” was predictable and consistent with whom he is.
Jonah is the conservative establishment. The same bunch of losers that lost to Barack Obama, twice. When we, the voters, rejected his Jeb Bush and other establishment candidates, Jonah went into attack mode and has been there ever since. I’m not sure whom he dislikes more, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. But Jonah is as staunch a “Never Trumper” as there is — something that should be considered whenever you read his drivel.
Let’s look at just one of Jonah’s complaints, the debt limit. What Trump did is called “clear the decks.” We are going to raise the debt limit, regardless. So rather than having Congress waste a lot of time in debate, Trump got it out of the way to help our malfunctioning Congress work on what they have not been able to do in the last seven months — repeal Obamacare, pass a budget, tax reduction and simplification, immigration, and infrastructure.
Lately, Trump has been trying to work with all of Congress, including Democrats — something that angers Jonah even more, if that’s possible.
We have a president who is trying to get things done.
We also have an establishment that is doing all they can to stop him.
And yes, we the people who elected Trump are still supporting him because he is doing all he can to accomplished what he promised — in spite of the “Never Trumpers.”
