Craft bazaar: Fields United Methodist Church Missions Committee will host the annual Craft Bazaar 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 14. The Bazaar will be in the Fellowship Hall of the church, 34077 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville. There are many crafters with seasonal, fall, and Christmas items. Shoppers can look forward to door prizes, a bake sale, refreshmen­ts, breakfast / lunch items, and more. $1 donation per person (kids are admitted free) is requested at the door. Local author Holly McCain will be on hand to sign her newest book “Deer Me!” (The Press). McCain recently published her fourth book, Deer Me, a story about a group of young friends and their adventures on their way to a town carnival. They face mishaps and obstacles along their path. Proceeds from the Craft Bazaar go to various Mission projects of Fields UM Church, including mission trips, support of local missionari­es and missions, North Ridgeville Community Care, and more. Fall rummage sale: The Avon UMC 37711 Detroit Road, Avon, will host a fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 20 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 21. The topic of the meeting will be opiate and heroin issues in Lorain County. The public is invited. Classes for children, adults: Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville, will kick-off a new weekly evening program for youngsters and adults called Wednesdays @ Fields. The classes started Sept. 13 and continue to May 23. Divine Mercy presentati­on: Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church at the corner of West 15th Street and Lexington Avenue in Lorain, is offering a presentati­on called Divine Mercy in the Second Greatest Story Ever Told by bestsellin­g author Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC. This DVD series covers the apparition­s of Our Lady of Fatima, the papacy of St. John Paul II and the profound connection between Divine Mercy and Marian Consecrati­on. It began on Sept. 17 for five weeks with an hour viewing of the DVD from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. followed by a short discussion, which is optional, in the church. Drive-in of prayer: The congregati­on of Fields United Methodist Church is offering free prayer support via a drive-in event on Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Persons requesting prayer simply drive in to the church parking lot at 34077 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville, and will be directed to the next available prayer station. Members of Fields will listen to the drive-thru request and pray with the person or persons right then and there. If a person wants additional prayer support, their request will be taken in writing and presented to the Prayer Ministry team at Fields.
