Mercy offers free events on the latest treatments and therapies for orthopedic care
Do you live with persistent knee pain? Are you having difficulty raising your arm to reach into a cabinet? Have you experienced tingling or muscle weakness in your back? All of these issues can impact your quality of life. Nagging pain and limited mobility can keep you from living a full life and participating in your favorite pastimes. Over time, conditions that cause pain can also result in diminished health and even dependence on others.
To help individuals suffering from a variety of chronic pain issues learn more about potential treatment options, Mercy is offering free educational programming, the Mercy Movement Series.
The Mercy Movement Series includes the following events: Thursday, Oct. 5: Shoulder pain and its
causes – Robert Zanotti, MD, will discuss the primary reasons for shoulder pain and the most advanced options in treating shoulder conditions. Tuesday, Oct. 17: Latest options for minimally invasive spine surgery – Suffering from aches and pain in your neck or lower back, or a tingling or muscle weakness? Robert Berkowitz, MD, will share how aging affects the spine
and the minimally invasive procedures available that can relieve pain and discomfort. Thursday, Oct. 26: How to prevent and treat
knee and shoulder injuries – David G. Marsh, MD, will talk about orthopaedic injuries that happen through sports, work and play. Get the latest advice on how to deal with injuries and how to prevent them. Tuesday, Nov. 7: Minimally invasive joint
surgery for active adults – Join Daniel Zanotti, MD as he talks about chronic joint pain and the most advanced options available using minimally invasive joint surgery. Learn more about Mercy services that support orthopaedic care, including therapy, surgery and care at the Mercy Health - Orthopaedics, Neurology and Spine Center, our specialized unit for elective joint, spine and stroke patients.
All programs will take place at the Mercy Health and Recreation Center, located at 47160 Hollstein Drive in Amherst, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sessions are free and open to the public. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Seating is limited.
