Lorain native Hannah Lurry marked the global release of her new album with an album release concert at Lorain’s Club OurPlace at 201 E. 29th St. on Sept. 30.

The new album launched on multiple platforms including iTunes, Pandora and Spotify and peaked at No. 4 in the United Kingdom.

Hannah, 15, performed six songs from her debut album “This Heart of Mine,” and said she was excited to show the community what she was all about. The album which was produced over the course of a year features ten songs.

“I feel like it is the place that I need to be. It’s kind of mixed feelings because you’re always going to have your fans but you have to keep being you,” Hannah said.

Global Exec Records CEO Daniel Rucker said the all 10 songs were written and produced along with Hannah and collaborators Marcus Cross and Justin Chapman.

“The good thing about being an independent record company rather than the accolades that we do have, we are able to do artist

development. And the industry doesn’t allow that. Since we own the rights to everything we can put a record out whenever we want to,” Rucker said.

Rucker stressed that the concert was not only marking the release of Hannah’s album, but was an opportunity to shine a light on young, talented entertainers who are actively pursuing a career in music.

“We are here to celebrate and have a good time with her friends and family,” he said. “OurSpace is a venue that has supported us for years so we couldn’t do anything else but do it here. So we’re happy to be here and show support for other artists.”

Cleveland radio personality Micah Dixon served as MC for the evening which featured performances by E’javien Franklin, who is label mates with Hannah, in addition to Jayden Colbert, singer Serena South, R&B trio 3Uniqu3 and dance team Barbies of Steel.

The Lorain-based independent label currently has four artists signed and Rucker said it is constantly looking to develop new talent in the area.
