• Emmanuel Reed ran for career bests of 144 yards and three touchdowns to lead Buffalo (3-2) to a 2713 victory over Kent State (1-4) in a Mid-American Conference opener. Dustin Crum (Midview), who was making his first start, connected with Kavious Price for a 75-yard score, the Golden Flashes’ longest play this season.

• Nathan Rourke threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 113 yards and two scores and visiting Ohio (4-1) fought off winless Massachuse­tts, 58-50. Austin Conrad (Keystone) posted a half-sack for a 4-yard loss. A.J. Ouellette ran for 125 yards and scored a touchdown and now has three-straight games rushing for more than 100 yards. Brendan Cope had 126 yards receiving and a touchdown. • Oberlin (2-2) was off this week. The Yeomen travel to DePauw on Oct. 7.

• Jake Hudson passed for 260 yards and five touchdowns as host Baldwin Wallace (2-2, 1-2 OAC) beat Marietta, 52-24, in the Lee Tressel Shrine Classic.

• The defense of Mount Union (4-0, 3-0 OAC) forced three turnovers and held Ohio Northern to 45 yards in the first half on the way to a 43-14 victory. D’Angelo Fulford threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another.

• Host Lake Erie College (1-4, 1-1 GMAC) scored two touchdowns in the final seven minutes and survived a missed field goal in the waning seconds to beat Alderson Broaddus, 16-15.
