• New York Grill, 4290 Oberlin Ave., will host a fundraiser for the Lorain Lighthouse Foundation from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of the bill to the Lighthouse when diners present a copy of the flyer for the benefit.

• On Oct. 21, Festa Italiana will start at noon at the Italian American Veterans post, 4567 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. IAV will recognize Argenti Auto Body, John L. Gallo and Joan Wohlever.

Admission is free and the party will include music, raffles, games, authentic Italian food and baked good and live entertainm­ent.

• Lorain Historical Society will screen the documentar­y “Bringing Back the Black River” at 7 p.m., Oct. 10, at the Carnegie Center, 329 W. 10th St., Lorain. Admission is free.

• The society’s History on the Rocks Fundraiser will be 6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 14, at the Lorain Palace Theater, 617 Broadway. General admission tickets are $65 and must be purchased by Oct. 9 online or by calling 440245-2563.

The society will host an exhibition by the Museum of Hispanic and Latino Cultures on Oct. 10, 12, 14 and 15, with Lorain’s Aztec Dance Troupe, “Danza Tonantzin,” performing at 2 p.m., Oct. 15.

The Lorain Historical Society will celebrate Literary Lorain with free events Oct. 23 to 27 and Nov. 4. Details are available at www.lorainhist­ory.org.
