Soul to Sole kicked off their annual shoe giveaway at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County Desich Family Campus at 4111 Pearl Ave. on Oct. 10.
Established in 2007 by Lori Campana with her sister-inlaw Laurie Bove, the organization has given out 22,000 pairs of shoes to Lorain County kids between the ages of six and 18.
Over the next few days the nonprofit organization will hand out shoes to youth at Boys and Girls Clubs locations across Lorain County.

Campana said the inspiration for the idea came after listening to former NBA player Stephon Marbury on the radio talking about his new line of discount shoes, the Starbury’s giving Campana
and Bove the motivation to team up to provide athletic shoes to area youth.
“He did it so moms and dads didn’t have to break the bank for a new pair of shoes,” Campana added.
After beginning with the Starbury’s Soul to Sole handed pairs of Nike running shoes along with some seasonal Halloween delicacies bringing smiles and excitement to Lorain youngsters.
“It’s just inspiring every time we come by and
these kids are thrilled. Who doesn’t want a new pair of shoes.”
