Parma man’s body found in Huntington
A 27-year-old Parma man was found dead Oct. 11 in a ditch in Huntington Township, according to a news release.
A 27-year-old Parma man was found dead Oct. 11 in a ditch in Huntington Township, according to a news release from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
Passersby found the body of Corey Stevenson in a ditch on Pratt Road, east of Hawley Road, the release said.
At about 8:17 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office and the South Lorain County Ambulance Service were dispatched to Pratt Road for a call for an unresponsive white male, according to the release.
The male was located in the ditch between the roadway and a corn field and was pronounced dead upon the arrival of EMS and authorities on scene, the release said.
The body showed no apparent trauma, according to the release.
Lorain County Coroner Dr. Stephen Evans said an autopsy is ongoing and a cause of death has yet to be determined. Further investigation is being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau.
Both Evans and Capt. Don Barker of the Detective Bureau stated the circumstances around the body’s location in a ditch are suspicious, but no determinations have been made.
