Elyria police have arrested a man and a woman they say are linked to robberies of two businesses earlier this month.
Daniel T. Begin, 32, of Columbia Station, and Casey L. Liberty, 30, of Amherst, are facing two counts of aggravated robbery involving GameStop, 249 Midway Blvd., on Oct. 7; and Subway, 1535 W. River Road North, on Oct. 16, according to Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino.
According to court records, both defendants
made initial appearances Oct. 24 in Elyria Municipal Court and were found indigent by the court, meaning they are unable to afford legal counsel.
Begin and Liberty are being held at the Lorain County Jail on $100,000 and $75,000 bond, respectively, and are prohibited from having any contact with Subway and GameStop, court records indicate.
The pair are scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings before Elyria Municipal Judge Gary C. Bennett on Oct. 30.
Begin and Liberty also are suspects in robberies that occurred in Avon, North Olmsted, Berea, Perkins Township and Madison, Costantino said.
Detectives from agencies including Elyria, North Ridgeville, Avon, Berea, North Olmsted, Perkins Township and Madison are credited as working together on the case, he said.
