-

Ohio held Toledo scoreless in the fourth quarter and the Bobcats won, 3810, Nov. 8 in a battle of the Mid-American Conference division leaders.

Dorian Brown had 142 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries for Ohio (8-2, 5-1) and quarterback Nathan O’Rourke was 7-of-15 with 139 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Quarterback Logan Woodside led Toledo (82, 5-1), completing 24 of 35 passes for 263 yards and a touchdown.

In another MAC crossover game, Western Michigan (6-4, 4-2) scored 34 straight points in a 48-20 rout of Kent State (2-8, 1-5).

Jarvion Franklin had 191 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries for the Broncos, while Dustin Crum (Midview) had three carries for 80 yards and a touchdown for Kent State. The Minnesota Vikings have taken quarterback Teddy Bridgewater off the physically unable to perform list, adding him to the active roster for the first time since he badly injured his left knee during practice more than 14 months ago.

Quarterback Sam Bradford was placed on injured reserve amid continued trouble with his left knee. The moves were made Wednesday, the deadline for a decision by the Vikings at the end of the three-week window that opened when Bridgewater resumed practice with the team.

Bradford led the Vikings to victory in the season opener, but he has played only half a game since then, at Chicago on Oct. 9, when he hobbled around on his sore left knee and took four sacks before Case Keenum came in.

Auburn has fired associate head basketball coach Chuck Person, who has been indicted on federal bribery, conspiracy and fraud charges.

The university announced the move Wednesday, a day after Person and seven others were indicted by a federal grand jury in New York City.

An Auburn statement says Person “is no longer an employee. As such, this is in the hands of the criminal justice system.”

Schools officials say he was fired before the indictment. The 53-year-old Person had been suspended without pay following his arrest in September.

His attorney, Theresa Trzaskoma, said Tuesday that Person didn’t commit any crimes. Person allegedly received $91,500 in bribes to steer Auburn players to Pittsburgh financial adviser Marty Blazer when they turn pro. Person told Blazer he gave $18,500 of that to the families of two Auburn players, according to a federal complaint.

Auburn is indefinitely holding out center Austin Wiley and forward Danjel Purifoy, citing “potential eligibility issues.”

UCLA basketball coach Steve Alford will sit the three players reportedly involved in a shoplifting incident in China for Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech in Shanghai.

Pac-12 Conference Commissioner Larry Scott issued a statement Tuesday night saying that UCLA basketball players were “involved in a situation” in China, with police being summoned to the team’s hotel to investigate the matter.

Citing a person close to the situation, the Los Angeles Times reported that freshmen LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were involved in a shoplifting incident.

The Atlanta JournalConstitution reported that local police were called to the hotel in Hangzhou and inspected UCLA’s bus as players waited to depart for practice. Police interviewed players from both teams before clearing three players from Georgia Tech, according to a statement released by the school.
