Man faces attempted burglary charges

A man is in custody after an early morning attempted burglary in Avon.

Officers responded to the area of Mapleridge Boulevard and Sunfish Cove regarding a suspicious person seen by a resident at his back patio door at 4:30 a.m. Nov. 22, according to an Avon police news release.

Responding officers checked the area and came into contact with Justin Dino, 23, of Linndale.

After their initial investigat­ion, officers placed Dino in custody and charged him with burglary and attempted burglary, according to the release.

One home on Mapleridge was entered, and several other homes in the area were believed to be tampered with, the report said.

An unoccupied Blue Ford Escape parked on Sunfish belonged to Dino, according to the report.

Items recovered from the vehicle included jewelry, coins and currency, the report said.

Not all items have been identified at this time as to the location, or locations, they were taken from, according to the report.

Avon detectives are continuing the investigat­ion and may pursue additional charges, the release said.

Court officials have not set a hearing date.
