Lorain City Schools communications chief will leave the post to pursue other opportunities.

Erin Gadd, director of communications and community engagement for Lorain Schools, will leave the post Dec. 4 to pursue alternate career opportunities, according to her email sent to Lorain school staff and board members.

“I have been deeply honored to be a part of the Lorain City Schools community,” Gadd said. “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Board of Education for this opportunity to participate in the collaboration, growth and successes we’ve built over the past two years.

“The stage has been set for our schools to continue this good and honorable work, ensuring our students, families, staff and residents the opportunities and resources they deserve,” she said.

“We have great kids in Lorain,” Gadd said. “And in my position, I have seen first-hand why every one of them can succeed — not only on the state report card, but in life. #LorainPride is a very real, and powerful thing.”

Gadd offered to help do what she can to ensure a smooth transition before she leaves the district.

“I am incredibly proud to have been part of Titan Nation,” she said.

Gadd had a salary of $107,995 a year, according to the Lorain Schools treasurer’s office.

It was unclear how the position could be filled. Lorain Schools is overseen by an Academic Distress Commission with Chief Executive Officer David Hardy Jr. at the helm.
