Bowls will be $15 and more handmade pottery will be available. All proceeds will benefit Oberlin Community Services. Amherst. The December meeting is on the second Wednesday of the month due to the many Christmas activities at the church. The luncheon, food prepared by Fligner’s, will be served. The musical entertainm­ent is Mike Moore. The cost is $7 for members and $10 for non-members. No tickets will be sold at the door, but can be ordered by calling Pattie at 440-222-5971 by Dec. 6. No reservatio­ns will be taken after that date. The $5 membership dues will be accepted. Door prizes will be handed out. There will also be a raffle and flea market items can be purchased. Cookie Walk: The Annual Cookie Walk at Amherst United Methodist Church, 396 Park Ave., Amherst will be 10 a.m. Dec. 14. The cost is $7 per pound. Society: This December the Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain, will celebrate 91 years of Novenas to Our Blessed Mother, a Mexican religious tradition brought to Lorain in the 1920s. The Most Rev. Bishop Nelson J. Perez, the 11th bishop of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese, will preside at a solemn Mass concelebra­ted by the Rev. William Thaden, pastor of Sacred Heart. Festivitie­s begin at 9 p.m. Dec. 11, featuring Aztec dance and the music of Mariachis and Mexican treats. The celebratio­n continues with the Rosary at 11 p.m., the singing of traditiona­l songs (Las Mananitas) and praise to Our Lady of Guadalupe, and culminates in the celebratio­n of the Holy Mass at midnight on the 12th, honoring the Virgin of Guadalupe. This all takes place at Sacred Heart Chapel. Breakfast with Santa:

The Men of Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville, will host the annual Breakfast With Santa program at 9 a.m. Dec. 9. The program includes breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m., Christmas activities until 10:15 a.m., and then a visit from Santa Claus. Cost of the program is $4 for children ages 12 years old and older; $3 for age 12 and younger, babes in arms are admitted free (maximum $30 per family). Cameras and videos are welcome. Each child will receive a special goodies bag. RSVPs to the church office preferred by calling 220327-8753. The Breakfast With Santa program is a community service project and donations are appreciate­d. At the same time, the Simple Abundance women’s group of Fields United Methodist Church is sponsoring its seventh annual “Cookie Walk” from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., or when the last of the cookies are gone, whichever comes first. Cookies will be sold for $8 a pound and are available in the Narthex area by the church office. The Cookie Walk is a simple walk in program, no reservatio­ns required. Christmas Classics: The Amherst Community Chorus will present “Christmas Classics” at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 17, in St. Joseph’s Social Hall, Amherst. The Chorus is in its 22nd year under the direction of Simone and Steve Gall. Popular and traditiona­l hymns will be sung ending with The Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah. Tickets are available at the door; the concert is $6, adults; $5 seniors; $4 students; and children age 5 and younger will be admitted free. Refreshmen­ts will follow the concert. St. Nicholas Sale: A Feast of St. Nicholas Sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Dec. 16 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Parish, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. Featured for the sale will be nut, poppy seed and apricot rolls, potato-cheese pirohi (pierogi), long raisin and long plain bread, and cabbage rolls by the dozen. Monthly dinner: St. Mary Church, 309 W. 7th St., Lorain, will host the monthly dinner after 4:30 Mass, Dec. 9.
