Police: Man robs Elyria paint store
Elyria police are looking for a man they say robbed a Sherwin-Williams Paint Store.
Officers responded to an aggravated robbery that occurred at Sherwin-Williams, 604 Tillotson St., at 6:13 p.m., Dec. 14, according to Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino.
A Sherwin-Williams employee was with a colleague in the warehouse portion of the store when he heard a chime, indicating someone had entered the store, Costantino said.
The worker approached a 5-foot, 9-inch black male with a mild to medium complexion, thin build and wearing a scarf and blue-hooded vest, according to Costantino.
The suspect instructed the worker to give him all the money, and he displayed a handgun tucked into the front of his pants, he said.
The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and took off on foot heading north toward the 500 block of Griswold Road, Costantino said.
