“Santa” visited Metro PCS at 225 E. 42nd St. for a customer appreciation holiday party.

Metro PCS hosted its annual Christmas party at its 225 E. 42nd St. location on the south side of Lorain on Dec. 15.

Complete with an appearance by Saint Nick himself, children were welcomed to take home a gift ranging from Star Wars action figures to Nerf guns and the seasonal staples eliciting excitement from youngsters.

Owner Moe Haq operates seven Metro PCS locations in the area and has been in the wireless business for the last 10 years. He said their holiday customer appreciation celebration was about giving back and encouraging people to shop local and give local. Since opening his East 42nd Street location four years ago, he says he has been eager to reach out where he can in providing exceptional service and more.

“I’ve been in Lorain for over 15 years and the best thing to do is give back to the community, Haq said. “They give back to us and give back to the community.”

“My main thing is making sure everyone out here has toys for their kids and at least a picture with Santa,” he said. “We gave out Thanksgiving turkeys, we do back to school giveaways and we do everything out here for the community.”

District Manager Momo Alnazer was having some fun handing out gifts to eager youngsters.

“We had an absolute blast. See all these kids smiling and happy taking a picture with Santa and

getting gifts? This is priceless. And in giving back to the community we have to love our customers and this is small thing to do for our customers,” Alnazer said.

In an exclusive interview with The Morning Journal, Santa Claus made a special visit to Metro PCS in Lorain as he was making his final preparations with his reindeer as he is finalizing landing clearance with the FAA, taking the time to bring some early Christmas joy to area children.

“It just makes the whole season worthwhile. To come in here and sit down, kids come in and they love Santa to death, but they get more excited to pick out their own present from under the tree,” Santa said.
