Lorain woman indicted on felonious assault charge
A Lorain woman has been indicted on a felonious assault charge after police say she intentionally drove her car into another woman’s car.
Trisha L. Morrow, 41, was indicted Dec. 22 by a Lorain County grand jury after her case was bound over from Lorain Municipal Court.
On Nov. 16, Lorain police were dispatched to the area of West 11th Street and Mildred Avenue, where they met the 42-year-old victim, who was physically shaken and couldn’t hold onto the information she was attempting to retrieve from her purse for the officers, according to a Lorain police report.
The woman told officers she was shaken up, but not injured, the report said.
She also told officers the incident occurred when she was traveling east on West Erie Avenue and stopped at a traffic light at Leavitt Road, the report said.
The victim told officers she was stopped at the light when she turned to look at the silver 2009 Toyota hatchback next to her. She recognized Morrow, who was driving the car.
She said she beeped her car’s horn to get Morrow’s attention and waved when Morrow turned, the report said.
The victim told officers Morrow looked at her with a “scary and crazy look,” according to the report.
As the light changed, Morrow accelerated, but swerved into the victim’s car on the driver’s side three times before speeding off east on West Erie, the report said.
The victim attempted to follow Morrow, but lost her in the area of West 11th Street and Mildred Avenue.
She told officers there was no issue between her and Morrow until the crash, and that she had last seen Morrow two weeks prior to the incident.
She said she believed the attack was intentional, according to the report.
Morrow was arrested the next day.
Morrow is being held in the Lorain County Jail on $100,000 bond. She will be arraigned Dec. 28 in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.
