• Firelands placed 11th out of 26 teams at the Perrysburg Invitation­al. Sophomore Payton Burgdorf (106) won a title with two wins over top 10-ranked opponents, and is 24-0 overall. Heavyweigh­t Sean Lipscomb (285) won a title, and topped a pair of stateranke­d opponents along the way. He is 25-1. Tyler Bennett (220) also earned an eighth-place finish.

• Amherst finished fifth at the Perry Pin City Invitation­al. Senior heavyweigh­t Matt Lee suffered his first loss of the season to Cathedral Prep’s Kawaun Deboe in a 5-2 decision, but Lee is still a resounding 20-1 overall. He won the other matches by pinfall in a combined 3:29.

North Ridgeville’s Jacob Dunstan (126) took third place at Pin City, and teammate Patrick MacGregor (220) was fourth. Lutheran West junior Parker Watson (132) took third after a 4-2 decision over Madison’s

Jeff Birchford. Watson is 15-4 overall. North Olmsted’s Alex Reagan finished third in the 113-pound class.

• Bay junior Matthew Cover (182) won the Outstandin­g Wrestler award at the JC Gorman Invitation­al. He is 22-1 overall. The Rockets took second out of 36 teams.

• Olmsted Falls went to Lake Catholic and wrestled five matches. The Bulldogs beat Aurora, Lake Catholic, Brunswick and Hoover, and lost to St. Vincent St. Mary. They finished second overall.

• Keystone finished second at Plymouth. David McCullough (182) and Justin Ocheltree (195) each had five pins and firstplace wins. Ocheltree was voted Outstandin­g Wrestler of the tournament. Hudson Hall (152) was second. Brandon Smith (285) and Nick Hickman (220) were third.

• Midview topped Avon Lake in a Southweste­rn Conference dual, 41-30, to remain undefeated in the conference at 3-0.

• Westlake’s Liam Kruger (145) went 6-0 in duals vs. Berea-Midpark, North Olmsted and Bedford. He went 4-0 in the Bedford duals and was named outstandin­g wrestler 145 pounds and under. He had three pins in the six wins.
