Stuffed cabbage sale: A stuffed cabbage sale will be from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 1691 E. 31st St., Lorain. Orders can be placed by calling the church office from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday at 440–277-8177. Cost is $15 per dozen, uncooked. Orders will be taken until Feb. 9. If a message is left, a return call to confirm the order will be made. Also homemade Hurka and Kolbasz will be available. Call the church office for more information. Pierogies for sale: St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3038 Charleston Ave., Lorain, will sell potato/cheese pierogies for $8 per dozen on Jan. 19. Pray the rosary: All faiths and all nations are invited to pray the Rosary of the Unborn with us at St. Anthony of Padua Church, in the Eucharistic Chapel, 1305 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the first Saturday of every month. Rosaries are prayed the first Saturday of every month, every half hour, on the hour. Catholic Golden Agers to meet: The Catholic Golden Agers will meet at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 in the Social Hall at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Amherst. Members are asked to bring their own sandwiches. Soup and crackers, pickles, cookies and drinks will be provided. Executive board members are providing the soup, but members are also welcomed to bring a favorite soup. The donation is $2. The meeting will also include bingo for $1 per card. Prizes will be awarded to winners. A raffle and short meeting will take place. Bring used or new items for the flea market table. Polka Mass: St. Frances Cabrini Altar and Rosary Society (former St. John), at the corner of Grove Avenue and Homewood Drive in Lorain, will host a Polka Mass at 11 a.m. Jan. 14. All are welcome. Immediately following will be a stuffed pork chop dinner/ polka party in the social hall. Doors open at noon. Music for the Mass and dancing is provided by Ed Klimczak, with dinner being served from noon to 3 p.m. Adult tickets cost $15 per person. Children age 3 and under eat free. There is a children’s menu of hot dog and mac and cheese for $5 per child. There will be a Chinese raffle, 50⁄50 and a

Worship service: Community Congregational United Church of Christ, 379 S. Main St. Amherst, hosts worship service and Sunday School (for ages 3 and older) at 10 a.m. every Sunday. Public invited to worship: Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville, invites the public to join in worship at 7:30 Wednesday evenings. No need to be a member; worship is open to everybody who just wants to take 30 minutes or so to recharge their spiritual batteries midway through the week. Free community meal: On the last Sunday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Journey of Faith Church in North Ridgeville cooks and serves a fresh hot meal for those in need in the community. This is done in connection with Community Care in North Ridgeville and other churches in the area. The community meal provides more than a hot meal though. It provides a time to sit down and relax with others in the community while being cared for.
