Avon Lake Public Library offers new programs
The Avon Lake Public Library, 32649 Electric Blvd., will offer two new programs designed for children with special needs.
From January through April, the Avon Lake library will offer Adapted Story Time and Music Enrichment sessions where children with varying learning styles and abilities can participate in a safe and supportive environment, according to a news release.
Adapted Story Time will take place at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 27 and March 24 in the library story time room.
The event will feature 20 minutes of reading followed by an open play and sensory time for youngsters who may find it difficult to sit through a traditional story time session.
Music Enrichment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 12 and 7 p.m. April 19 where the library will partner with Avon Lake-based Music on a Mission, which uses the power of music to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs through creative, interactive programming, the release said.
Both programs are geared toward children ages 3-7, but everyone is welcome with a participating adult.
