Local briefs LCCC read-in for Black History Month

The Lorain County Community College’s Bass Library, 1005 N. Abbe Road in Elyria, will host an African American Read-In in celebration of Black History Month.

It will take place from noon to 3 p.m., Feb. 14. The event will feature the reading of various works — both poetry and prose — by African American authors.

The event is open to the public. A special celebration of Frederick Douglass’ 200th birthday also will take place.
