On March 12, Midview Athletic Director Dan May announced Debbie Tomasheski would take over the volleyball program, pending board of education approval at the March 28 meeting.

After a short search, the Middies have found their next volleyball coach.

On March 12, Midview Athletic Director Dan May announced Debbie Tomasheski would take over the program, pending board of education approval at the March 28 meeting.

Tomasheski, a 1998 Willoughby South graduate, takes over for Lindsey Groomes, who resigned in January after three seasons at the helm of the Middies.

“I am excited to welcome Deb as the new leader of Midview Volleyball,” May said. “Her passion for Midview and its athletic programs is well-known throughout the community. She is also a highly respected volleyball coach who is ready to take over her own program.”

As May alluded to, Tomasheski is no stranger to the Midview program, having served in a variety of roles over the past 10 years.

Most recently, Tomasheski was an assistant coach with the seventh grade team, but started out as an assistant varsity coach with the Middies in 2009. She works in the Midview Local School District at the high school as an educational monitor.

“I am excited and ready for this opportunity,” Tomasheski said. “I love Midview volleyball and hope to bring unity as we work hard to achieve our program goals.”

Outside of Midview, Tomasheski is an assistant coach for the Cleveland Volleyball Company’s 13 Blue team.
