Bay’s R.J. Sunahara, right, is named to the Division II AllOhio second team and Lorain’s Devon Grant is selected for the Division I All-Ohio third team.

Two area players were named to the Division I and II All-Ohio teams released by the OHSAA on March 20.

Leading the way is Bay senior R.J. Sunahara who was named secondteam All-Ohio in D-II. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged a double-double with 22.8 points and 11.5 rebounds and added 3.5 assists, 2.1 steals and 2.9 blocks per game.

Sunahara, who is headed to Fairmont State after graduation to continue his basketball career, led the Rockets to a regional final before a 6564 loss to Lexington ended their postseason run. He is the all-time leading scorer in program history and holds the record for most defensive rebounds in a season, most steals in a game, most blocks in a career, and most career rebounds.

Luke Howes (Fairview), Brody Kuhl (Keystone), Javon Todd (Clearview) and Joby Pfeil (Vermilion) all earned a D-II honorable mention.

In D-I, Lorain’s standout point guard, Devon Grant, was named third-team AllOhio.

The 6-foot-1 junior averaged 21.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game this season while shooting 48 percent from the field and 79 percent from the free-throw line. He is averaging 25.4 points over the Titans’ postseason run.
