An FFA Chapter of Lorain County JVS celebrated accomplishments of the school year with an annual banquet planned and managed by students.

According to a news release from LCJVS:

About 80 guests and 40 FFA members participated in the event, with top students winning plaques and pins.

“As the year is unfolding, the students don’t always see or understand how important the contributions of their FFA chapter are, and the impact it has on the community,” indicated Beth Berthold, instructor of landscape and greenhouse management and FFA advisor, in the release.

The 2018-2019 FFA officers were announced: President Sydney Collier, junior from Clearview, landscape and greenhouse management; vice-president William Keller, junior from Midview, landscape and greenhouse management; secretary Michael McDonald, junior from Keystone, industrial equipment mechanics; treasurer Thomas Keller, junior from Midview, landscape and greenhouse management; reporter Savannah Roby, junior from Wellington, landscape and greenhouse management; sentinel Nicholas Borlaug, junior from North Ridgeville, industrial equipment mechanics; student advisor Aidan Marang, junior from Keystone, industrial equipment mechanics.

Kaitlyn Lemaster, senior from Amherst in industrial equipment mechanics, is outgoing JVS FFA Chapter president.

“It is an honor to be an officer in the FFA,” Kaitlyn indicated in the release. “From time to time during the year, you may encounter difficult problems, but through cooperation, hard work, and dedication, you will succeed. Seek harmony among your fellow officers, and set high standards of leadership for all chapter members.” The National FFA Organization is an extracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership.
