Sandusky man faces a felony charge

The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested Justin Dennis, 29, for his seventh lifetime OVI on state Route 2 in Perkins Township, according to a news release from the Highway Patrol.

Dennis was stopped at 5:18 a.m., April 13, for a marked lanes violation and showed signs of impairment and was arrested, the release said.

Dennis has six prior conviction­s through Bowling Green Municipal Court and Sandusky Municipal Court, the release said.

Dennis also has a felony OVI pending in Erie County Common Pleas Court. He was incarcerat­ed in the Erie County Jail and was scheduled to appear in Sandusky Municipal Court later that morning.

Dennis must appear in 10 a.m., April 18, authoritie­s said.

Jail records show Dennis was released on a $15,000 bond.

Four people hospitaliz­ed after crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a threecar crash that injured four people at 10:25 a.m., April 17, on state Route 58 just south of Russia Road in New Russia Township.

A 30-year-old woman from Racine, in Meigs County, Ohio, was charged with going left of center, a minor misdemeano­r, while traveling south on Route 58 and striking a 42-year-old Elyria man going north, according to a trooper.

A 58-year-old Wellington woman was behind the Elyria man going north saw the crash coming and swerved into a ditch on the east side of the road, the trooper said.

According to the Highway Patrol, a 78-year-old female passenger also of Wellington was inside the 58-year-old woman’s vehicle.

All three drivers and the passenger were taken to Mercy Allen Medical Center in Oberlin, the trooper said.

Both female drivers were released with minor injuries.

The Elyria man was transporte­d with non lifethreat­ening injuries to Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.
